Martishor, Romanian tradition

 Spring is coming in our places, with a wonderful sign: Martzishor!

On the first of March, people give cards with a small charm and a red and white string. to their love ones. Red symbolize love and white is snow and health.They are switched together to bring luck! So, the dearest relatives, wives, mothers and children receive Martzishoare and enjoy wearing them at least 10 days, or the whole month. After that, they hang them into the fruit-trees, to bring wellness and good crops!
Here are some handmade martzisoare made by myself. They are personalized with Romanian women names: AURA, GETA, ELENA...These are only a few of them...
